President Tyler “Link” Lincoln of the Dead Presidents MC, runs a club dedicated to helping military vets readjust to society. When his sergeant at arms is arrested for the attempted murder of a prominent Seattle figure, Link’s search for a lawyer brave enough to fight for justice leads him to an alluring defense attorney with a bleeding heart and a steel backbone.
This isn’t the first time Emily Stafford’s commitment to defending the falsely accused has put her in harm’s way. Smart, cautious, and independent, she knows how to defend herself. At least, she did until she joined forces with one sexy, overbearing, tattooed MC president.
Flames run hot as Link and Emily seek shelter in the club’s converted fire station, working against the clock to uncover the truth and save a somewhat innocent man.
Emily pulled out a bandage and I grabbed her hands, stopping her from ripping it open.
She looked up at me, lip curled, eyes daring. “What’s the matter? Is the big bad biker afraid of a little Band-aid?”
“Big bad bikers don’t use Band-aids.” I was so damn hard for the little firecracker, I pulled her against me so she could feel my reaction.
She glared at me. “I told you not to touch me.”
“What’s the matter? Is the big bad lawyer afraid of a little touching? Scared you might like it and attack me? Fuck me, even?” Lowering my head so my lips were less than an inch from her neck, I added, “You showed me what you’re capable of. You don’t like this, babe, you can stop me anytime.
She pushed me away. “You’re a client, Link. There are rules.”
I grinned. “First off, I’m not your client. Havoc is.”
“You paid me.”
I crept closer, my hands settling back on her hips. “The club paid you.”
“And you’re the president of said club. It’s a fine line.”
But this time, she didn’t pull away. She wanted it as much as I did. I could tell by her dilated eyes and shallow breathing. If I slid a finger over her folds, she’d be wet for me. The surety of it made me even harder. I circled my arms around her waist and pulled her closer as I nibbled and kissed my way up to her jaw. She tasted sweet and her skin was buttery soft against my lips.
“Second,” I breathed. “Are you telling me it’s illegal to sleep with a client?” I knew it wasn’t. I’d looked up the law.
My lips grazed her neck again, and she sucked in a breath. “Not exactly illegal, but frowned upon. It could damage my reputation.
I claimed her mouth, temporarily cutting her off.
When I let her up for air, she dove right back into her objection. “And I’ve worked my ass off to be wanted for my skills in the courtroom, not the bedroom.”
Words breathy, objection weak at best, I knew I had her. Smiling as my hands drifted down to give her ass a squeeze, I brushed another kiss against her plump lips and said, “What if I want you for both?”
I pulled her tighter against me and she opened her lips with another gasp. It was all the invitation I needed. Grabbing her ass, I picked her up and walked until her back pressed against the wall, all the while, exploring her mouth. Pulling back long enough to take in her lust-filled gaze, I ran my fingers through her hair, releasing it from the bun. It fell in waves past her breasts. Holy shit, I wanted her. I was so hard it literally hurt.
“My god, you are so beautiful,” I said, tucking a lock behind her ear. “I can’t wait to get you naked.”
Harley Stone writes mafia romance and funny-as-shit romantic fiction. When she's not writing, she's busy living out her real adventure in southwest Washington with her husband and their five boys.
